ANSWER: A completed learner’s permit application form, three certified passport-sized photographs, completed proof of residence/identity form, a medical certificate completed by a registered medical practitioner, your Tax Registration Number (TRN), Proof of Age (copy of Birth Certificate, Passport or National ID)
- How long can I have a medical certificate before submitting to the Island Traffic Authority for a learner’s permit?
ANSWER: A medical certificate being submitted to the ITA must not be older than 3 months. Once submitted, you will not need to submit another medical, unless you are upgrading to a Class C Driver’s Licence or adding weight to that class.

ANSWER: No, the test is free. You should not pay anyone to take this test.

ANSWER: Once you make an appointment, you can re-sit at an available date.

- How often can I re-sit the test?
ANSWER: Currently, you can re-sit as often as you can, but this is subject to change. It is recommended that you go back to the same location to re-sit the test, as your documents would be there.
- What will I receive after passing the Road Code Test?
ANSWER: You will be given a sealed envelope to take to the tax office and will be restricted from opening the envelope. Take the sealed envelope to the tax office and allow the clerk or officer at the tax office to open it. If you open it, it will be considered tampered with.

ANSWER: The cost is $1,800 and can be paid for at any Tax Office.

ANSWER: No, you will need to go to the tax office with the expired learner’s permit, completed learner’s permit application form, 2 certified passport-sized photograph, Tax Registration Number, Valid Identification and $1,800.
