Former Principal Finance Officer in the Ministry of Transport and Works Altius Williams was conferred with the Order of Distinction, OD on National Heroes Day, Monday, October 17, 2011.

He was conferred with the OD for his service to the public service, having spent 38 years working in various public sector entities, culminating with his stint at the Ministry of Transport and Works. He retired from the Public Service earlier this year.
