The Minister of Transport and Mining, Lester ‘Mike’ Henry, says he has now been advised by the Operators of the North South Highway, that they now have sufficient coins supply and as result the roll back in toll rates will take effect at 10 p.m. Monday July 24, 2017.

As a result of the roll back, motorists will now be asked to pay the rates that were in effect prior to the change on April 28, 2017.

According to Minister Henry, this promise was made to the motoring public and as such he is obliged to honour it.

He says it is important to remind motorists that we are now in the process of accepting an indicative application from the toll operator for a variation of the toll rates come September 2017. Minister Henry says, while he has not yet received the final application, motorists should be aware that a rate change is pending, under the Concession Agreement, between the toll road operator and the Government of Jamaica.
