TRANSJAMAICAN HIGHWAY CONTRIBUTES TO THE REPAIR OF FORUM BRIDGE

TRANSJAMAICAN HIGHWAY made a contribution of Six Million Dollars ($6M) to the National Works Agency (NWA) concerning the construction of the Forum Bridge in Portmore, St. Catherine in a ceremony at the Offices of the Ministry of Transport, Works and Housing on Wednesday, October 14, 2015.

Speaking at the ceremony, Head of TransJamaican Highway, Mr. Guillaume Allain said that they considered this as part of their duty against a background where the Bridge impacts traffic flows to the Portmore Toll Road. He notes that the Company is an integral part of the community life in Portmore and as such this is a part of their contribution to its development.

Also speaking at the handing over was Deputy Mayor for Portmore, Mr Alrick Campbell who thanked TransJamaican Highway for the gesture. He said the Bridge is an important access point to the Portmore Community and its repairs is an important safety measure for the many persons who have to use it. He used the opportunity to call on the JCF to have a presence in the vicinity while the construction was taking place.

CEO of the National Works Agency, Mr. E.G Hunter said that the NWA was pleased for the contribution and saw it as a recognition among public entities for them to work together for the betterment of communities and by extension, Jamaica. He said that the Agency will be working assiduously to ensure that the work is completed on time and within budget.
