ITA HONOURS RETIREES

Three retired employees were honoured by the Island Traffic Authority (ITA) at a function put on by the entity on October 20, 2011 at the Morgan’s Harbour Hotel, Port Royal.

The retirees, Ms. Marcia Wilson, Mrs. Lenorah McLymont and Ms. Esmine Chance worked for a combined period of 113years in various capacities at the ITA. Both Mrs. McLymont and Ms. Wilson were on hand to be acknowledged while Ms. Chance was unavoidably absent.

In lauding the efforts of the three retirees, Director of the ITA, Mr. Paul Clemetson said that the whole ITA owed them a debt of gratitude. He highlighted the fact that all three workers exemplified the true spirit of the organization – that of working assiduously in a diligent manner while at the same time maintaining a harmonious relationship with their peers. In bidding them farewell, he asked them to continue being productive while they enjoyed their retirement years.

In a wonderful ceremony, the retirees enjoyed musical tributes from Mr. Kempton Lewis and Mrs. Susan Gongasingh backed by members of the Omega Band. Citations were read to them by Ms. Pearline Freeman, Records Officer, ITA; Ms. Susan Gongasing, Administrator, ITA, respectively. In her absence, the citation and award for Ms. Chance were received by Mr. Crenston Boxhill, Senior Inspector, Spanish Town Examination Depot; it was read by Mr. Clive McDonald, Chief Inspector, ITA.

Also speaking at the ceremony were Mrs. Barbara Cadogan, Senior Director, Human Resource Management and Administration and Mr. Leo McEwan, Senior Public Relations Officer who deputized for the Permanent Secretary who was unavoidably absent.

Ably doing duties as the MC for the proceedings was Mr. Conrad Ainsworth while Ms. Miseyann Manning, Administrator offered prayers.
